Emotional First Aid at RISC: Support group 11th October 2021

Our next monthly support meeting at RISC is on Monday 11th October 2021 at 7.30pm. Numbers will be limited to a maximum of 20 people, so booking is essential if you wish to come along. Please register your free place through Eventbrite at the link below. As always, the meetings are completely free of charge and everyone is welcome. We aim to provide a safe and confidential environment where everyone is listened to and treated with respect.

Anne-Marie Gawen will lead a workshop on Emotional First Aid.

“Ouch – that must have hurt,” is something you might say if someone fell over or cut themselves. Yet emotional “injuries” or “wounds” also hurt (a LOT) and we never seem to mention them.

First aid is common practice for physical wounds, but how about practicing Emotional First Aid on yourself when life is hurting you is other ways? Anne-Marie has solutions for when you’re feeling the pain of experiences such as rejection, loneliness and failure.

Anne-Marie has many years’ experience in Adult Social Care and Adult Mental Health and has also worked for national and local charities as a volunteer and employee. She set up Unlock Your Wellbeing in 2016, to deliver training in wellbeing and mental health matters. Particularly important was to deliver training that was inspirational, and that people remembered and acted upon. Anne-Marie’s mission is to banish dullness and tedium from the learning experience.
