What Buddhism Can Teach About Managing Mental Health: Support Group at RISC 14th Sept 2026

Our next monthly support meeting at RISC is on Monday 14th September 2026 at 7.30pm.

We will be joined by Kelsang Dorchen, an ordained Buddhist monk from Reading Kadampa meditation centre. He will start the session by leading us in a short guided meditation. No previous experience of meditation or mindfulness is required to take part.

Dorchen will then share with us a bit about his personal journey, how Buddhist teachings have shaped that & some practical tips on how to manage mental wellbeing through a Buddhist lens.

There will be time for questions and discussion with free refreshments.

The Reading Kadampa meditation centre (located on Bath Road) offers a calm, tranquil and welcoming environment designed to help you develop inner peace through meditation based on the teachings of Buddha, presented in a clear & practical way. They provide weekly meditation classes, relaxing retreats and meditation day courses which are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Free on site parking is available, and everyone is welcome to attend. Find out more at https://learntomeditate.org.

Please register your free place through Eventbrite at the link below. As always, the meetings are completely free of charge and everyone is welcome. We aim to provide a safe and confidential environment where everyone is listened to and treated with respect.

If you book a ticket and are unable to attend, please let us know so that we can offer your place to someone else. You can cancel your ticket through Eventbrite, or send us a message via our contact form.
